Focus on Empowering Young People
Rotary Clubs are deeply involved in Youth Service, which is one of Rotary International’s five Avenues of Service. Youth Service focuses on empowering young people through leadership development, education, and community service.
$1 million in College Scholarships!
Since 1984 the Rotary Club of Aspen has awarded scholarships to many Aspen and Basalt High School students!  Currently the club offers at least two premier four-year-scholarship to graduating students from both Aspen and Basalt High Schools. Recipients are awarded based on a combination of merit, need, extracurricular activities, and the student's exemplification of the Rotary motto "Service Above Self."  These scholarships are funded through Aspen Rotary Club Ducky Derby proceeds.
Rotary Youth Exchange
The Aspen Rotary Club is proud to participate in the global Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) program. Each year, high school students are provided the opportunity to travel abroad for an entire school year, living with native host families, attending local schools, learning about new cultures, and creating fellowship and goodwill across countries. This is an annual program in which students apply to participate.  They must be good ambassadors for their communities and for Rotary in order to participate.
5 Avenues of Service
We channel our commitment to service at home and abroad through five Avenues of Service, which are the foundation of club activity.
