Community Grants Applicant Information
Rotary Club of Aspen Community Grants 2017
To: All Organizations Requesting Funding from the Rotary Club of Aspen
Subject: Application Information for Rotary Club of Aspen Community Grants
Thank you for your interest in applying for an Rotary Club of Aspen Community Grant. Once again, our annual Ducky Derby fundraising event was a wonderful success thanks to the generosity of many people and businesses in the Roaring Fork Valley. As always, our funds for Community Grants to local non-profit organizations are limited. Although the Ducky Derby raises almost $200,000 a year, most of that money goes directly to the youth groups and other local non-profit organizations that sell ducks. The funds available to the Rotary Club from Rotarian duck sales fund scholarships and scholastic awards; humanitarian world service projects; and Community Grants.
The following criteria is used to determine our Grant recipients:
· Priority is given to education, youth and human services.
· We consider the function of your organization.
· We give preference to granting seed money to help organizations get on their feet so they are able to create their own sources of funding.
· The higher the number of individuals served the better.
· We consider the impact our grant will have on your overall budget, since our largest grant is in the $2,000 range.
· We prefer funding organizations that are providing services not available elsewhere.
· We also consider the ability of your organization to raise funds.
The Rotary Club of Aspen’s areas of interest are prioritized as follows:
· Education (highest priority)
· Health and human services
· Community building that develops leadership
· Culture
· Sports/recreation activities (lowest priority)
